We suggest these steps the best cleaning results:
- Sort your clothes before laundering and wash similar colors together.
- Pretreat obvious stains.
- Always follow fabric care tag laundering instructions.
- Use the warmest water safe for the garments (be sure to check care tags).
- Fill your machine appropriately. We suggest that you: Start the water in your washer, add detergent and then add your clothes.
- Use the recommended amount of detergent. Use more if you have very hard water, large loads, heavy soils or a large capacity washer.
- Do not overload your washer or dryer.
Liquid detergents are usually better at removing greasy stains, while powdered detergents are usually better at removing mud, dirt and other ground soils.
Water needs to be a least 55 degrees Fahrenheit for good cleaning performance with any detergent. That means in winter, you may need to add some hot water to raise your water temperature to the right temperature for good cleaning.
P&G uses a non-chlorine bleach along with NOBS, P&G’s name for the unique bleach-activating system we developed for powders with Bleach. This system gives it its effective, color-safe bleaching performance.
Yes. P&G powders with Bleach use a special oxygen-based bleach, not chlorine bleach. Therefore, it does not affect the colors or fibers of your fabric like chlorine bleach can. This special bleach also helps to remove tough stains.
We don’t recommend adding chlorine bleach to powders with Bleach because it deactivates the color-safe bleach in the detergent. If you’d like more whitening, we suggest adding a color-safe bleach.
Yes, they are safe for all washable fabrics since it doesn’t contain any bleach. With the different enzymes, it provides powerful cleaning, whitening and brightening without affecting the colors and fibers of your garments.
Yes. If you want to use chlorine bleach, it should be added to the bleach dispenser in the washer or added 5 minutes after the wash cycle begins.

Using the wrong formula of detergent in your washer means you may not get the cleaning results you've come to expect from our detergents
According to the Soap and Detergent Association (SDA): “Detergents for the high efficiency washers must be low foaming to prevent excess suds that can cushion tumbling action and reduce cleaning. Using less detergent than recommended for the load size (in an effort to control suds) may mean reduced cleaning. Detergents need to be reformulated to give the best cleaning results in the new washers.”
